The Freedom Riders' Foundation was founded in 2001 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Freedom Rides. The celebration was held at Tougaloo College, Jackson, Mississippi, just after the 9/11/2001 attacks on America.
The Mission of the Freedom Riders' Foundation is to spread knowledge about the American Civil Rights Movement in general and the 1961 Freedom Rides in particular.
The Freedom Riders' Foundation is a project of SFFSC, a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization (Federal Tax ID #93-1048117, and California State Charity Registration ID #D-1684251 SF5FS).
